Rotary Haenertsburg
The Rotary Club of Haenertsburg was Chartered on 16 February 2001 under the sponsorship of the Pietersburg 100 Club. There were 25 Charter members and over the years this number has fluctuated up and down, but now stands at 22 active and 26 Friends of Rotary. Three of the original Charter members – Maurice & Chrisna Stander and Deneys Barry are still serving Rotarians in Haenertsburg. Of the 22 active members, 13 are women and there are 9 men from Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof, Tzaneen and Mooketsi;. The current President is Mmamphetla Betty Ramaselela whose year in office runs from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.
The club members come from a wide range of professions, ranging from civil engineer, to financial and insurance consultants and managers, lawyers, NGO administrators, an agricultural scientist, a journalist and many retired professionals. Meetings are held in the Club House (Wednesdays at 18h00 for 18h30) and there is a frequent facility set up to join on Zoom for those who are unable to physically attend. The Rotary Club House is the Rotary Moth Hall situated behind the Village Hall on Rissik Street, which is the main business street in this quaint little village. Fellowship is after the meeting when members socialise and enjoy a meal together. The Moth Hall is one of the oldest buildings in Haenertsburg, having originally been the Magistrate’s Court and later used by the MOTHS organisation in the area.
Our Club is so proud to be the recipient of the Best Project Award for District 9400 for 2021-2022.

HOW DO WE WORK?
Our impact starts with our members—people who work tirelessly with their clubs to solve some of our communities' toughest challenges. Their efforts are supported by Rotary International, our member association, and The Rotary Foundation, which turns generous donations into grants that fund the work of our members and partners around the world. Rotary is led by our members—responsible leaders who help to carry forward our organization's mission and values in their elected roles.
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
We've been making history and bringing our world closer together for over 100 years. Since forming in 1905, we've taken on some of the world's toughest challenges and helped a wide range of international and service organizations—from the UN to Easter Seals—get started.
HOW DO WE USE OUR FUNDS?
Responsible leadership means more than just doing good work—it means making the most out of every donation we receive.

WHAT CAUSES DO WE SUPPORT?
We have identified specific causes to target to maximize our local and global impact. At the same time, we understand that each community has its own unique needs and concerns. Through our network of resources and partners, we help clubs focus their service efforts in promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.
